Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is looking for an Oncology Navigator with a Bachelor’s of Nursing and 1+ years of experience coordinating care for cancer patients. You will schedule visits, coordinate imaging and treatments, and educate patients and families while following up after admissions.

The role supports Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with some remote work options. RN and CPR are required; oncology navigator certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively with clinicians, patients and families.
• Ability to interpret and apply clinical instructions and patient education.
• Experience coordinating care across imaging, specialty services and providers.

Responsibilities

• Confirms scheduled appointments with referring physicians and communicates with patients, families, support staff, and physicians to schedule initial visits and treatments.
• Coordinates imaging, specialists, and supportive services for patients. Assists physicians in consenting patients for new treatments and provides necessary education to patients and families.
• Follows up after inpatient admissions to assess patient needs and identify resources to overcome barriers to care.
• Manages ordering and follow-up for genetic testing when applicable.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of oncology disease processes and serves as a clinical point of contact for scheduling and information.
