Job summary

Kaiser Permanente NW is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (NICU) to deliver specialized neonatal care under supervision and in collaboration with the health care team.

The RN will assess, plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care for neonates, coordinate with other departments, and educate families while documenting in the EMR per policy.

Required: Oregon RN license, BLS, NRP, NICU experience or internship completion; bilingual Spanish-English is a plus; consistent days or nights noted.

Qualifications

  • Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
  • Or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente NW RN New Grad Internship program in the NICU.
  • Eighteen (18) months NICU experience in the last 5 years.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program required at hire.
  • Computer keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Performs multi-system assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs and discharge planning.
  • Planning: Develops a nursing plan of care and coordinates with departments and community agencies.
  • Implementation: Administers medications and follows physicians’ plans; documents in EMR; supports teaching plans.
  • Evaluation: Evaluates methods and patient responses; participates in unit quality assurance activities.
