Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a Registered Nurse to assist with newborn care during deliveries and postpartum, ensuring immediate supervision and neonatal support as needed. The role requires maintaining resuscitation skills and partnering with obstetric teams for high-risk patients.

You will document care, identify patients at risk, and assist with transfers when indicated, supporting a faith-based healing mission in a busy maternity setting.

Qualifications

• RN with current licensure.
• 1+ OB ED, labor and delivery or postpartum nursing experience preferred.
• BLS CPR certification and NRP required.
• RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries and provide immediate newborn support.
• Maintain neonatal resuscitation skills for emergencies.
• Assess high- and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential issues.
• Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.
• Assist with safe transfers of newborns to other facilities when indicated.
• Accurately identify and document mother, newborn, and others in medical records.

Job Description

Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery. Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies. Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues. Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly. Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers. Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups. Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records.

Education & Qualifications

• Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
• Work Experience: 1+ OB ED, labor and delivery or postpartum nursing experience [Preferred]
• Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred]

Pay Range

$33.61 - $62.53
