Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN to assist with newborn care during deliveries, provide immediate newborn support, and maintain neonatal resuscitation skills. Must hold RN license with BLS and NRP.

BSN preferred; 1+ year L&D experience preferred. The role requires a strong team collaboration mindset and adherence to patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensed with BLS, NRP and RN credentials.
• Nursing degree requirements: ADN required, BSN preferred.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries and provide immediate care.
• Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation for emergencies.
• Assess high- and low-risk obstetrical patients and report issues to physician.
• Assist with transfers of newborns to other facilities when indicated.
• Identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.

Job Description: Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm (3 shifts per week) Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery. Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies. Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues. Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly. Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers. Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.
