Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a dedicated RN for labor and delivery to provide newborn care during and after delivery, and to support families in a high-acuity obstetric setting. Schedule: Full-time, Day shift.

You will maintain neonatal resuscitation skills and perform assessments on high/low-risk patients, reporting issues promptly, assisting with safe transfers, and ensuring accurate documentation in patients’ records.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Active RN license in Texas.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery.
• Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues.
• Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.
• Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.
• Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups. Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred]
