Job summary

The Staff Nurse at Huron Regional Medical Center provides direct nursing care for individual clients with clearly defined nursing diagnoses. You will coordinate care with the health team and communicate on behalf of the client during a 12-hour night shift on a rotating schedule with every third weekend and holiday.

South Dakota RN licensure is required, with BLS mandatory and ACLS preferred. NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• NRP must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire.

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse provides direct nursing care for individual clients with well defined nursing diagnoses. The Staff Nurse communicates with and on behalf of the client and coordinates client care with all health team members. The Staff Nurse organizes those aspects of nursing care for which s/he is accountable in a specified work period.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
• One year Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS - required, ACLS - preferred but not required, NRP - Must obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
• Following a formal orientation, proficiency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months.
• Cross training is required.

Working Conditions

• Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and moderate (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly) lifting of clients and equipment.
• Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease.
• Failure to comply with standards of nursing care of HRMC may result in consequences to continued employment.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
