Job summary

The Staff Nurse at Huron Regional Medical Center provides direct nursing care for individual clients with well defined nursing diagnoses and coordinates client care with all health team members. The Staff Nurse organizes aspects of nursing care for which s/he is accountable in a specified work period.

• Experience in Medical/Surgical units is preferred.

• Provide direct nursing care to patients based on defined nursing diagnoses.
• Communicate with patients, families, and health team members; coordinate care.

Status: 60-72 hours per two week pay period

Shift: 12 Hours - Rotating Shifts

Job Schedule: Full-time

Job Summary

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
• One year Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS - required, ACLS - preferred but not required, NRP - Must obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
• Following a formal orientation, proficiency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months.
• Cross training is required.

Working Conditions

• Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and moderate lifting of clients and equipment (up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly).
• Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease.
• Failure to comply with standards of nursing care of HRMC may result in consequences to continued employment.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (e.g., fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
