Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Observation Unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital. The role is part-time (24 hours/week) with 7pm–7am shifts and every 3rd weekend plus rotating holidays.

You will deliver safe, compassionate nursing care, collaborate with the clinical team, maintain licensure, and meet education requirements including an Associate Degree or higher in Nursing, Illinois RN licensure, CPR, and NIHSS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing required.
• Current Illinois RN licensure is required.
• CPR certification and NIHSS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care for all patient populations.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the clinical team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Plan, implement and evaluate the patient care plan; participate in rotations.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $37.25 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Registered Nurse - Observation Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital
• Part-Time: 24hrs a week
• Hours: 7pm-7am with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

What you will need:

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
• If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
• Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered OR RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Knowledge base of EKG interpretation
• NIHSS Stroke Scale certification, required

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing. Surgical care experience (ortho and gen-surg), preferred ACLS certification, preferred 1 year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred.
