Job summary

Endeavor Health's Elmhurst Main Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit. This part-time role covers 24 hours per week, with shifts 7am–7pm and every third weekend plus rotating holidays.

You will deliver safe, compassionate nursing care and coordinate with the clinical team to support patient outcomes. Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher, Illinois RN licensure, CPR certification, EKG interpretation knowledge, and NIHSS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN is the highest degree, must graduate with BSN within five years of start date
• Current Illinois RN licensure
• Current CPR Certification issued by AHA or Red Cross
• Knowledge of EKG interpretation
• NIHSS Stroke Scale certification is required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred
• Surgical care experience (ortho and gen-surg) and ACLS preferred
• 1 year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Registered Nurse - Observation Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital
• Part-Time: 24hrs a week
• Hours: 7am-7pm with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

What you will need:

Required Education, Licenses/Certifications, Skills and/or Experience:

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing,
  • If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
  • Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered OR
• RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Knowledge base of EKG interpretation
• NIHSS Stroke Scale certification, required

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing
