Job summary

Oneida Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to work the night shift in our Hospital Emergency Department. The role coordinates patient care, administers nursing services, and supervises LPNs and support staff while reporting to a supervisory nursing position.

The ideal candidate will work independently within a team, remain calm under pressure, maintain accurate records, and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license required or able to obtain.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred for expanded scope.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in Emergency Department is desirable.

Oneida Health is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to work night shift (7pm-7am) in our Hospital Emergency Department (ER). This position is responsible for coordinating patient care and performing nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills. You will supervise LPNs and related support nursing staff and report to a supervisory‑level nursing position. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as part of a team while being able to remain calm in a high-pressure environment.

Your Essential Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate of Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor’s of Nursing (Preferred)
• License:
  • New York RN (Required)
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Preferred)
• Experience:
  • Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Emergency Department experience (Preferred)
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move about for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for patient care tasks and equipment operation.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to assess patient conditions and communicate effectively.
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of emergency nursing, including lifting and positioning patients.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
