Moorings Park is looking for a RN Nurse Supervisor. The RN Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that nursing care is provided according to established standards and policies, in keeping with all Federal, State and local regulations and to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained. This role promotes a holistic, person-centered approach to resident care by embedding the Best Friends Philosophy into every department and team member interaction.
Contributions
- Oversees, supervises and evaluates nursing interventions for residents, maintaining the standards of care, while encouraging residents to attain and maintain the optimum level of health, wellbeing and quality of life.
- Coordinates the integration of nursing personnel with other services and departments to provide an interdisciplinary approach of care.
- In conjunction with interdisciplinary team leaders, assesses the resident care needs and plans interventions to maintain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being as determined by the individual plan of care.
- Provides leadership, coaching and guidance; creating a working environment which promotes participation and works to retain and develop partners and where necessary utilizes the progressive counseling process.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication systems which will ensure that;
- All partners have a thorough knowledge of their residents’ individualized needs.
- Residents’ condition will be communicated and reported in a thorough and timely manner to team members, physician, and responsible party.
- Monitors compliance with quality assurance standards, federal, state and local regulations and through regular chart audits, identifies trends/problems, assists in implementation of corrective action, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to support the health, safety, and functional wellness of each resident.
- Maintains current clinical/management skills.
- Participates and reviews methods of evaluation to assure the quality of nursing practice ie. Completion of quality audits and keeps daily rounds of residents.
- Ensures that attending physicians and responsible family members are promptly notified of changes in resident’s condition.
- Ensures effective use of supplies and equipment, reporting the need for timely repairs.
- Responds to emergencies with a sense of urgency, compassion, and thoroughness. Completes all documentation and communication to physician, responsible party, and administrative team of Moorings Park as indicated.
- Champions the Best Friends Philosophy by obtaining and implementing the Best Friends Certified Master Trainer (BF-CMT) designation, promoting dignity, respect, and meaningful interactions throughout the community.
- Infuses ongoing training, education, and application of the Best Friends methodology across all departments by incorporating residents’ life stories, personalizing care and activities, and integrating meaningful engagement into all resident interactions and individualized care plans.
Job Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing (BS or BA) and must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN in the state of Florida.
- Two years of nursing experience in the long-term care setting is required, and a minimum of three years nurse supervision or a comparable management position.
- Mandatory to obtain the Best Friends - Master Trainer Certification (BF-CMT).
- Works in compliance with all HIPPA regulations and standards.
- Recommended completion of the Assisted Living Facility CORE training requirement pursuant to Rule 58A-5.50191 (1). F.A.C. including CORE training examination.
- Adheres to a flexible work schedule which involves working evenings, weekends, or holidays.
