Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) is hiring a full-time RN Nurse Educator to lead clinical training, onboard clinicians, and ensure high-quality hospice and palliative care across North Texas. Requires Texas RN license, ADN; BSN preferred; 2+ years hospice/home health experience; proficient in MatrixCare EMR and Relias LMS.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) is seeking a full-time RN Nurse Educator to lead clinical training, onboard new clinicians, and uphold the highest standards of palliative and hospice care across North Texas.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Education, the RN Nurse Educator designs, delivers, and evaluates clinical learning programs. You will serve as the primary clinical mentor for field and facility staff, facilitate hands-on skills labs, and oversee LVN Clinical Training Specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and update training materials, job aids, e-learning modules, and presentations for hospice and palliative clinical staff.
• Onboarding & Systems Training: Guide new clinical hires through orientation, including documentation mastery in MatrixCare EMR and mobile workflows (iPads/iPhones).
• LMS Administration: Partner with HR to manage, expand, and optimize courses within the Relias Learning Management System.
• Clinical Competency & QAPI: Partner with the Hospice QAPI team and Chief Nursing Officer to coordinate mandatory inservices, annual competencies, and hands-on skills labs.
• Field Mentorship: Serve as an accessible clinical resource to answer complex patient-care questions, conduct re-training, and support field staff.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current, Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license; current CPR certification.
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience; hospice or home health experience is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records, learning management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Requirements: Valid Texas Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and active auto liability insurance; must pass a criminal background check, TB screening, and Hepatitis acceptance/declination.

Working Conditions

• Routine office environment combined with local travel throughout the DFW Metroplex for inservices, skills evaluations, and field training.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs occasionally and demonstrate clinical equipment.
