Position Summary

This leadership role is pivotal in maintaining clinical excellence and operational effectiveness during nighttime hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Coordinate and supervise nursing staff activities during the night shift.
    • Provide guidance and support to nursing personnel, addressing clinical and administrative issues as they arise.
    • Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Patient Care Management:
    • Monitor patient care to ensure standards are met and intervene when necessary.
    • Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families to promote patient-centered care.
    • Participate in patient assessments and care planning as needed.
  • Staff Coordination:
    • Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage, including adjusting assignments based on patient acuity and staff availability.
    • Mentor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.
    • Assist in onboarding and training new night shift staff members.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, staff assignments, and any incidents occurring during the shift.
    • Report significant events to appropriate administrative personnel.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development.
Qualifications

  • Education & Licensure:
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of GA.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Experience in acute care or long-term care settings is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Working Conditions

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • May require occasional weekend or holiday coverage as needed.
  • On-call responsibilities may be assigned
