This leadership role involves supervising nursing staff, managing clinical and administrative tasks, and serving as the primary point of contact for any issues that arise during the night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Coordinate and supervise nursing staff activities during weekend night shifts.
    • Provide guidance and support to nursing personnel, addressing clinical and administrative issues as they arise.
    • Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Patient Care Management:
    • Monitor resident care to ensure standards are met and intervene when necessary.
    • Facilitate effective communication among staff, residents, and families to promote resident-centered care.
    • Participate in resident assessments and care planning as needed.
  • Staff Coordination:
    • Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage, including adjusting assignments based on resident acuity and staff availability.
    • Mentor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.
    • Assist in onboarding and training new weekend night staff members.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, staff assignments, and any incidents occurring during the shift.
    • Report significant events to appropriate administrative personnel.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
    • Promote a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
    • Lead by example in maintaining resident confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
Qualifications

  • Education & Licensure:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of GA.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or a similar setting.
    • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software systems.
    • Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions

  • This position requires standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible; proper protective equipment and training are provided.
  • The role involves overnight hours, with occasional requirements to work holidays as needed.
