Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is seeking a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare to justice-involved patients at Allen County Jail, Fort Wayne. You will administer medications, conduct intakes, respond to sick calls, and perform routine nursing duties in a correctional setting.

The role requires Indiana RN/LPN licensure and CPR certification, standing for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

RN or LPN licensure in Indiana.
Valid CPR certification.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients, including administering medications.
Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed.
Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider.
Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider.
Perform 14-day physicals and manage chronic care.
Provide patient education on health concerns.
Respond to medical emergencies and take charge when needed.
Maintain knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication costs.
