UNC Youth Behavioral Health Facility is hiring New Grad Nurses to join our team!
Seeking nursing graduates to start Fall 2025
To qualify for the UNC Medical Center (YBH is part of UNC Medical Center) New Graduate Residency program, candidates must be in their final semester of nursing school or have recently graduated within the past 12 months and have worked as an RN for less than 6 months. The program supports the transition from academia to practice, providing mentored clinical relationships and professional development. Applicants must pass the NCLEX exam and obtain an RN license before the first day of employment.
We are seeking a New Graduate RN for a multidisciplinary team, primarily on the New Day Unit, a 14-bed unit for adolescent and young adult patients in crisis with various mental health diagnoses.
Youth Behavioral Health Hospital (YBH) is a 54-bed, 24-hour psychiatric facility in Butner, North Carolina, grounded in a trauma-informed, milieu-based, therapeutic environment. The facility serves patients with complex histories, including aggression and psychosis, emphasizing safety, positive coping skills, healthy living, and leisure activities. The interdisciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Nursing staff. Staff are cross-trained across units serving children and adolescents with mental health diagnoses, dual diagnoses, substance misuse, complex behaviors, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder.
Position details include 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts, with full benefits. The role qualifies for UNC Hospitals' New Grad RN Incentive Program, offering up to $15,000 in commitment incentives or $25,000 in tuition loan forgiveness, plus up to $10,000 in relocation assistance based on location.
