Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg – New Grad - [Mercy Fairfield Hospital]

Job Summary:

The New Grad Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) will provide entry-level nursing care by assessing patient status, delivering care for medical and surgical diagnoses, implementing interventions, developing care plans, and ensuring a safe environment.

Essential Functions:

1. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
2. Assess patient condition, collect vital signs, administer IV medications, and perform charting.
3. Manage a diverse patient caseload with a higher patient-to-nurse ratio.
4. Evaluate and update care plans to meet expected outcomes.
5. Administer medications safely according to policies and procedures.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Diploma or Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Required Licensing & Certifications:

• Current RN licensure or applicant status in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care).
