Job Details

Registered Nurse – Per Diem, flexible hours (Day shift).

Location: Thomas Jefferson Neuroscience Hospital, 900 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Prior neurology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co‑workers, patients, families, and other staff, honoring Jefferson values.
• Integrate evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise and patient preferences to deliver optimal care.
• Partner with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs, provide education, and promote understanding of treatments.
• Minimize risk of harm by following established nursing practices and protocols.
• Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making.
• Analyze data to monitor care outcomes and apply quality‑improvement methods for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication and shared decision‑making.
• Recognize and honor patients’ personal preferences, priorities, and cultural beliefs, ensuring safe, compassionate, and coordinated care.
• Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with a specialized diploma.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to transmit and interpret information thoughtfully.
• Competence in patient assessment and care planning, including medication administration and prescription.
• Proficiency in education techniques for patients and care partners, including discharge planning.
• Proficiency in health information documentation and use of electronic health records.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) and registered RN license in PA, NJ, or as specified.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
• One year of prior RN experience in an acute‑care setting.
