Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year ICU/critical care experience; neurological patient care preferred.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
• Ability to maintain 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The role requires expertise in managing advanced equipment and delivering care in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. The nurse will perform patient assessments, administer medications, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and maintain a 1:2 patient ratio to ensure high-quality care. Strong clinical skills, communication, and flexibility to float between units are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to ICU patients, including neurological cases.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Utilize specialized equipment relevant to neuro and critical care settings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech charting system.
• Float between ICU and like units as needed to support facility staffing.
• Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience with neurological patient care preferred.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale.

• Comfortable with floating between units as needed.

Special Considerations

• Weekend work required every other weekend (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period).
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Floating between like units required based on facility needs.
• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
• Block scheduling accommodations subject to manager discretion.
• Guaranteed hours with facility able to call off once per two-week pay period.

Scheduling

• Shift assignments determined by facility needs, including weekends every other week.
• Typical ICU shift pattern with 1:2 patient ratio.
