Hours: Full Time (36 Hour Week), 12 Hour Shift

Bonus: $10,000 Hiring Bonus

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in Neuro Nursing provides patient care by assessing, identifying appropriate nursing diagnoses, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to optimize patient outcomes and transitions across the care continuum. The nurse develops, updates, and coordinates the patient's plan of care, monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions appropriately. They also ensure the maintenance of essential competencies required for the specific area of practice and the populations served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care:
    • Assess and identify appropriate nursing diagnoses for patients.
    • Plan, implement, and evaluate care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes.
    • Develop and update individualized patient care plans to meet evolving needs.
    • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
  • Advocacy:
    • Advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering with patients and the healthcare team to respect autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
  • Learning and Education:
    • Foster a learning environment for patients, families, and team members, including students.
    • Facilitate both formal and informal learning opportunities for patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  • Safety and Quality:
    • Accountable for patient safety and quality of care by identifying and addressing problems.
    • Incorporate evidence-based practices and data to improve patient outcomes.
    • Prioritize patient, self, and environmental safety to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in the field.
    • Practice in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act, ethical guidelines, and relevant professional standards.
    • Promote a culture of inquiry, integrating and disseminating research and evidence-based practices.
  • Leadership:
    • Lead and coordinate teams, delegate appropriately, and collaborate with the inter-professional care team.
    • Model professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession.
Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate - NIH Stroke Scale Training Course within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Neuro Nursing.
