Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse for the 4S Butterworth Neuro/NeuroSUR unit. You will care for complex neurology and neurosurgery patients, including spine, brain tumor, stroke, and other conditions, delivering nursing care per ANA standards.

The role emphasizes the nursing process, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, safety, and professional growth. Shift is day, with every other weekend, 24 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care for neurology and neurosurgery patients.
• Follow the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Uphold ANA standards, ethics, and professional performance with collaboration.

About the unit

4 South is a 44 bed Progressive Neurosurgical unit located in Butterworth. In this role you will be instrumental in the care of general neurology and neurosurgical patients. Our neurosurgical patients are highly complex. We care for spine surgery patients, patients who have undergone craniotomy and craniectomy for brain tumor resection, removal or debulking and elective aneurysm interventions. Our general neurology patients include those who have experienced acute, stroke, seizure, chronic headaches and general neurological disorders including Guillen-Barre Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis exacerbations

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
