Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is seeking a Perinatal Center leader to oversee daily clinical and administrative operations, coordinating high‑risk patient care from referral to discharge. This role requires an RN with OB/GYN/MFM exposure and strong teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will build relationships with patients and families, educate on care options, and coordinate appointments, conferences, and transfers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of biotechnological and biomedical sciences applied to patient care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and health professionals.
• Ability to develop and manage communication between interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to present and discuss patients with healthcare team.
• English reading/writing and comprehension required.

Job Description:

• Offers psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families.
• Coordinates appointments and services for patients.
• Coordinates care conferences with physicians, staff, and patients/families.
• Maintains a database on fetal care cases, complex maternal medical cases, and hospital transfers.
• Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• The PNN must demonstrate knowledge of the requisite biotechnological and biomedical sciences, as well as application of this knowledge to patient care. The PNN must demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that result in the effective exchange of information and collaboration with patients, their families, and health professionals. [Required]
• Management approach to common fetal conditions and obstetrical complications requiring specialized antenatal care and/or hospitalization. [Required]
• Management approach to maternal medical conditions (e.g., diabetes). [Required]
• The psychosocial impact of high-risk pregnancy on the patient and family. [Required]
• Develop and manage communication process between interdisciplinary team members, staff, and patients/families. [Required]
• Effectively present and discuss patients with all members of the healthcare team, including advanced practice providers, medical students, sonographers, residents, nurses and attending physicians. [Required]
• Effectively address patient questions and concerns during each visit. [Required]
• Appropriately elevate patient questions and concerns to supervising physician. [Required]
• Communicate regularly with referring physicians to provide patient updates and services as needed. [Required]
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements. [Required]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• 1+ experience in OBGYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine [Required]
• 2+ experience in OBGYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 3+ experience in obgyn or mfm [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
