Job summary

Cynet Health in Houston, TX seeks an RN with Telemetry for a 13-week night shift. The unit has 14 beds, 8 nurses and 4 patient care technicians, a 1:6 patient ratio, and Meditech Expanse EMR. Valid RN license and at least 1 year telemetry experience are required.

Duties include IV insertion, labs, Foley cath, and continuous cardiac monitoring. Work cooperatively with the team and may rotate weekends/holidays; BLS is required and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform IV insertion, lab draws and Foley catheter insertion.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac alarms.

• Collaborate with nurses and technicians to manage patient care.
• Alternate weekends and holidays as required.

Description:The unit consists of 14 beds with a staff of 8 nurses and 4 patient care technicians.The patient ratio is 1 nurse to 6 patients.Typical staffing includes 2 nurses and 1 patient care technician on day shift and 2 nurses and 1 patient care technician on night shift.Equipment used includes cardiac monitors, vital sign machines, and IV pumps.The electronic medical record system used is Meditech Expanse.Candidates with experience in a trauma facility are preferred.Typical procedures performed include IV insertion, lab draws, and Foley catheter insertion.The ideal candidate will possess a teamwork mindset.Alternating weekends and holidays are required.
