Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA is seeking a registered nurse for night shift responsible for planning, delivery and management of direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing standards.

The role requires current MA nursing licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications as well as ongoing professional development. The position offers a non-exempt, full-time schedule with a 2300-0700 shift and a competitive hiring range.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering.
• PALS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering.
• NRP Advanced Provider through AAP required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

• 1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Per Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Registered Nurses employed at the SEF (Satellite Emergency Facility) must have the following qualifications:

License/Certification/Education: Required:

• 1. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
• 2. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support or APLS (Advanced Pediatric Life Support). CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certified or required to obtain upon hire.

Experience/Skills: Required:

• 1. Have a minimum of three years' experience working in a full service hospital emergency department.
• 2. Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of their total working hours per year.
