Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, deliver and manage direct patient care using the nursing process, with emphasis on safety and quality within a dynamic hospital setting.

The role requires Massachusetts nursing licensure, BLS, and ACLS/PALS where applicable, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. The position offers a Day Shift, 12-hour rotations and a 36-hour work week, including holidays and weekends as outlined in the schedule.

• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

Required:

1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

Preferred :

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
