LewisGale Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care on the night shift (7p–7a) in a 36-hour workweek with rotating weekends and holidays. You will work with the clinical team to implement individualized care plans for patients and coordinate unit activities.

The role requires an accredited nursing education, Virginia RN licensure, multi-state privilege, BLS certification, and neonatal resuscitation training within 12

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Registered Nurse with multi-state privilege granted by state licenses in Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 12 months of start date.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you willwork closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient’s needs.

• You will also coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks.
• You will instruct and educate patients and family members.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• You will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Coordinate patients discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What qualifications will you need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
• Licensed, as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions.
• Registered Nurse with “multi-state privilege" granted to them by virtue of holding a license in one of the states participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement and who has not established permanent residency in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 12 months of start date.
