Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Mother-Baby unit in Norfolk, VA. The RN will care for new mothers and newborns, provide self-care education, and support rooming-in to promote bonding and wellness.

The role requires a Virginia or Compact license, BLS, and an RN degree. 7am-7pm shifts and a 30-bed unit emphasize quality, safety, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• 1 year RN experience preferred.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing is REQUIRED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) REQUIRED.
• RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma REQUIRED.

Responsabilités

• Assess and monitor mothers and newborns in the Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit.
• Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, safety, and self-care.
• Support rooming-in and newborn assessments; assist with bathing, feeding, and swaddling.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure quality, safety, and patient-focused service.
