Allegheny General Hospital MICU is seeking a full-time RN to provide critical care to seriously ill patients on a 28-bed unit with private rooms. The role involves assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team from admission through discharge.

The position requires PA RN licensure (or eligible), CPR, and background clearances. Unionized environment with a 72-hour biweekly shift and rotating weekends/holidays per policy.

THE UNIT:

Allegheny General's MICU is a 28 bed unit providing intensive care to critically ill patients. All rooms are private to ensure patient comfort and privacy. The MICU primarily serves patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, sepsis, and multi-system organ failure.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
