Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN for the MICU in Nashville. The position requires an Active RN License with ACLS and BLS, and ICU/MICU experience. The unit operates nights (19:00-07:00) with 36-hour shifts and a 13-week assignment.

Minimum 2 years RN experience is required, with strong skills in invasive procedures and patient care amidst variable acuity. Willingness to float to needed units is expected.

• Scheduling requires weekend shifts and four-week increments; self-scheduling allowed to an extent.

Description:The unit has 31 beds.Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with possible variations of 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing.Unit secretaries are staffed during the dayshift.An occasional nurse extern may work as a tech.Equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000.The documentation system used is Meditech.Scheduling requires a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule.Schedules are designed in 4-week increments.Self-scheduling is allowed to an extent, with the manager balancing shifts as needed.Contract labor is the first to float when staffing needs arise.If necessary, contract labor is expected to float to medical/surgical units and take assignments.Nurses are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members.Advanced skills required include insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions.The dress code is navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms.Specific unit policies and guidelines are provided upon request.Any additional information that may entice candidates includes opportunities for scheduling flexibility and the experience of current staff.
