Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit (STC-5). The role features 36 hours per week with day and night shifts, on a 36-bed telemetry unit serving adults to geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN License.
• Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Responsibilities

• Wide variety of Medical Diagnosis and patients ranging from Adults to Geriatrics on the STC-5 unit.
• Care for patients with impaired respiratory status and those requiring airborne, contact and/or droplet precautions.
• Provide wound and skin care, nutritional support, and manage various diagnostics.
• Monitor patients with cardiac monitoring and assist with procedures as needed.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care on a telemetry monitored unit.

Education

Graduate of RN School of Nursing

ADN required; BSN preferred

Active RN License

Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a full time Registered Nurse to join our amazing Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit (STC-5) The #1 city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement! Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule

Full Time – Days and Nights available - 36 hours per week

Unit Summary

This 36-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging in age from Adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service for STC-5 include but are not limited to the following:

• Wide variety of Medical Diagnosis, most patients we see come from the ICU, especially the MICU


• Patients requiring medication regimens


• Patients with impaired respiratory status


• Patients requiring airborne, contact and/or droplet precautions


• Patients requiring nutritional support


• Patients requiring wound and skin care


• Diagnostic procedures including thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath insertion, pacemaker and collection of specimens


• Patients requiring N/G suction


• Patients requiring cardiac monitoring


• Patients with GI abnormalities


• Severe Sepsis


• Bi-Pap machines (external vent)


• CHF


• Multi-Organ Failure points.
