Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking an energetic Med-Surg staff nurse to join our fast-paced 30-bed unit. The staff nurse provides direct care to adult and geriatric patients and coordinates care with the medical team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; RN license in Georgia required
• BLS certification required; advanced certification in specialty preferred where applicable
• Bachelor's degree preferred for Med-Surg nursing
• 1 year hospital experience preferred but not required for PRN positions

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients using nursing process
• Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff and doctors
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while managing unit workflow

Med A is seeking an energetic medical-surgical nurse to join our dynamic team here at Piedmont Athens.

We pride ourselves in providing high quality, evidenced based care on a fast paced 30 bed Med-Surg unit.

Our Med A staff coordinate health care plans with the entire medical team to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients suffering from a variety of illnesses and comorbidities including overflow from our specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary, Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff include IV team, home med nurse and lift team.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.
• Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios
