Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated Med-Surg staff nurse for nights (7pm-7am) on a fast-paced 30-bed unit. You will deliver direct adult and geriatric patient care within established policies and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications include GA RN licensure, BCLS, and a nursing degree. New graduates welcome; hospital experience preferred. Flexible schedules and a supportive work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Work Experience: No experience required; new graduates eligible.
• Nursing experience in hospital setting preferred (1 year for PRN).
• Licenses/certifications: GA RN licensure; BCLS required; advanced certs as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through lifecycle using nursing process.
• Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care with assigned staff.
• Manage patient ratios according to volume and acuity.

Med A is seeking an energetic medical-surgical nurse to join our dynamic team here at Piedmont Athens.

We pride ourselves in providing high quality, evidenced based care on a fast paced 30 bed Med-Surg unit.

Our Med A staff coordinate health care plans with the entire medical team to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients suffering from a variety of illnesses and comorbidities including overflow from our specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary, Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff include IV team, home med nurse and lift team.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.
• Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios
