Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Neuro/Neurology floor on the night shift (7pm-7am). This full-time inpatient role focuses on stroke and neuroscience care with a sign-on bonus and specialty differential.

You will collaborate with Stroke Coordinator, PT/OT, respiratory therapy, physicians, and case management to provide high-quality nursing care. Eligible new graduates welcomed with orientation and preceptorship.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a nursing program.
  • Current GA RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BLS certification required.
  • One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred for PRN; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients across the lifecycle using nursing processes.
  • Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care across assigned staff.
  • Respond to patient needs in a fast-paced inpatient neuroscience environment.

Piedmont- Athens, GAMed Surg 7: Neuroscience Dept. Full time Nights 7pm-7am Sign on Bonus available $$ Specialty Differential. Piedmont Athens Regional, a primary Stroke center, is home to a DNV Stroke Certified Neuro Science floor. It is a 30-bed acute care facility that specializes in Stroke, Spinal injuries, head injuries, and pre and post-op surgical needs. The nursing staff are NIHSS-assessment certified and attend the Georgia stroke class curriculum.


This is a fast-paced, inpatient unit that cares for patients along the continuum of their recovery. Our team of staff on the Neuro floor is supported by a Stroke Coordinator, PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy, Physicians, Case Management, Social Work, Secretary, Phlebotomy, lift team, IV team, STAT team, and Pharmacy.


Our comprehensive orientation period pairs both experienced and new staff with a qualified preceptor that helps with goal-setting and training to ensure your success as part of the Neuro Team.


The Neurology unit provides nursing care to patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.


RESPONSIBLE FOR

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.



  • Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.

  • Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios.


Qualifications


  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a nursing program

  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible

  • MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.

  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: For PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum). Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
