Mercy Pittsburg is seeking an RN to provide patient-centered care on the Medical Surgical (Med-Surg) unit. The role emphasizes nursing process, professional accountability, and coordination with other departments to ensure patient rights and confidentiality.

The Med-Surg unit is a 32-bed foundation for acute medical-surgical care, handling a variety of diagnoses and care needs. The ideal candidate will work to maintain high-quality care while adapting to varying acuity levels.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Current RN license in the state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.

Functionally, this unit houses and cares for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.
