Job summary

ARMStaffing is hiring a Registered Nurse for Oncology on the day shift in Philadelphia, PA. The 13-week assignment is on the Jeanes Campus 4A unit, a medical-surgical/oncology inpatient unit with 21 beds.

You will collaborate with a dedicated team to care for oncology, stroke, heart failure, ESRD, withdrawal, abdominal pain, and other medical conditions. On-site nursing duties include medication administration, ward rounds, and patient-family communication.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in medical-surgical and oncology nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical and oncology patients.
• Administer medications including titrated meds (e.g., Heparin, Lasix).
• Perform procedures such as chest tube setup, tracheostomy care, and CPR.

Job Description

The 4A unit at Jeanes Campus is an adult Med Surg/Oncology unit providing care exclusively for inpatients. The unit features 21 beds and cares for patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and oncology diagnoses.

Nurses on this unit collaborate with a dedicated team in a supportive environment. The patient population includes individuals diagnosed with cancer, stroke, congestive heart failure, end-stage renal disease, alcohol/opioid withdrawal, abdominal pain, and other general medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical and oncology patients.
• Administer medications, including titrated medications such as Heparin and Lasix.
• Perform procedures such as chest tube setup, tracheostomy care, and CPR.
• Manage lines, drains, and equipment such as PCA pumps and wound VACs.
• Conduct assessments, monitor patient conditions, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Required Experience

• Experience in medical-surgical and oncology nursing.
• Familiarity with procedures and care associated with oncology and surgical patients.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
