Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 6C Medicine Pulmonary Unit at University Hospital. You will provide 24-hour nursing care, coordinate patient care from admission to discharge, and work with a diverse patient population with conditions like COPD, pneumonia and diabetes.

The role offers shift variety, orientation, and opportunities for professional growth in a large academic health system. Hybrid/mobile work options may be available at department discretion.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license (NCLEX passed).
• Graduate Nurse may apply with 45 days to pass NCLEX for MI licensure.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience at University of Michigan Hospital desirable.
• Strong communication and problem-solving with health-care team.
• Leadership experience as preceptor/charge nurse preferred.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office and GroupWise.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care for a varied patient population.
• Collaborate with the health team to coordinate patient care.
• Communicate with patients and families and document care plans.
• Provide nursing consultations within and between departments.
• Support unit policies, procedures and equipment use.
• Precept and role-model for nursing staff.
