Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pulmonary Medicine Center (Inpatient). The 31-bed unit cares for COPD, pneumonia, sepsis and other conditions, offering a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and a mentorship-focused environment.

Shifts are 3-12 hours (7p–7:30a) with every third weekend and rotating holidays, totaling 36 hours per week. You will lead care delivery, document accurately, and support patients and families throughout recovery and discharge.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state.
• BLS certification required.
• New grads welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and support patients with complex medical needs.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team during hand-offs.
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge.
• Document care accurately in real time.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and changing conditions.
