Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Bigelow 14 unit is seeking a Staff Nurse to join a dynamic 27-bed acute medical unit. You will work a 36-hour week in a rotating day/night schedule, including weekends and holidays, delivering patient- and family-centered care in a collaborative environment with an interdisciplinary team.

As an RN, you will administer medications, monitor patients, document vital signs, and coordinate care plans with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of RN experience, at least two years of recent acute care experience is preferred.
  • BSN strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with nursing care planning and patient assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Administer medications and monitor for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify treatment plans as indicated by patient responses.

36 hours d/n rotation, weekends and holidays Bigelow 14 is a dynamic 27-bed acute medical unit dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with a wide range of complex medical conditions. As a Staff Nurse on Bigelow 14, you'll practice in a collaborative, patient and family-centered environment where primary nursing drives individualized care and meaningful patient relationships. Working alongside a highly skilled interdisciplinary team, including a unit-based Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Director, and experienced healthcare professionals, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your clinical expertise while making a direct impact on patient outcomes. Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Essential Functions

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have: BSN strongly preferred Minimum of one year of RN experience, at least two years of recent acute care experience is preferred. Education Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse RN - MA License Experience Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided. Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
