Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients within the facility, ensuring continuity of care and supervising support staff while addressing each patient’s unique developmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients.
• Promote continuity of care for unit patients, providing direct patient care and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Patient Care Aides, and other support staff.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development to assess patient status and identify age‑specific needs.
• Interpret data to determine each patient’s requirements.
• Provide care in accordance with department/unit policies and procedures.
• Participate in patient and family teaching.
• Maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrate the values of the Hospital and Nursing Department mission and philosophy statements.
• Support and promote a positive image of professional nursing and Olympic Medical Center.
• Provide care in a variety of circumstances, including emergencies and crises.
• Occasionally work irregular hours.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Two years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licensure & Credentials

• Current Washington State RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS certification required within one year of hire.

Pay and Benefits

• Variable hourly pay range: $40.37 – $72.25.
• Shift differentials: evening $3.00/hr, night $5.00/hr, weekend $4.50/hr.
• Premiums: standby $4.00/hr, charge $3.25/hr, float $2.50/hr.
• Per diem: 15% of hourly rate.
• Additional premiums: Certification $2.00/hr, Preceptor $1.00/hr, Advanced Preceptor $2.00/hr.
