Kaiser Permanente seeks a Temporary RN for the Medical-Surgical unit in Hillsboro, OR to provide comprehensive nursing care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
• Preferred: two years recent medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.
• Oregon RN license and BLS at hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 3 months of hire.
• Telemetry test must be passed within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Identify deviations from normal on routine lab tests and reassess patients during hospitalization.
• Develop individual nursing plans of care sensitive to patient development.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for managing medical/surgical patients.
• Document care accurately in the EMR according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
