Job summary

The University of Kentucky seeks a Registered Nurse for the 6 Main Medical Surgical Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. The role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults with diabetes, endocrine and surgical needs, within a collaborative team setting.

Shift: three 12-hour DAY shifts per week, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with some weekends and holidays. ADN required; BSN and RN licensure with BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license or equivalent valid for the state (or compact) and BLS certification.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• No minimum experience required, but BSN + RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered care.
• Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a nursing care plan.
• Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction.
• Train and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians.
• Adhere to University policies, procedures, and regulations.
