Job summary

CHI Oakes Hospital, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in Medical Surgical and ER settings in southeastern North Dakota. You will educate patients and families, apply critical thinking, and work with physicians and nurses to create individualized care plans.

The role requires a nursing degree, North Dakota RN license or compact state, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS or to obtain within six months).

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or a compact state.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs.
  • Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
  • Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders.
  • Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As an Acute Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician as you work in both Medical Surgical and the ER. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others - with a patient-first mindset. Keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency support your career advancement and you thrive in a clinical environment where you will rarely experience the same day twice. To thrive in this role, you'll demonstrate your top-notch clinical skills, caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process.

Where You'll Work

CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.

*Pay Range*

$34.00 - $50.58 /hour
