Qualifications

  • Graduate of a state approved school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse Licensed in the State of North Dakota.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Completes all documentation according to standard operating procedures.
  • Administers medication utilizing the Five Rights and according to the standard operating procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison between provider and patient in setting additional appointments and therapy sessions as ordered by the practitioners.
  • Assists with coordination and preparation of transfer, when necessary. Fills out transfer sheets for all receiving facilities.
  • Assists with coordination and preparation of direct admits, when necessary. Notifies the unit secretaries or acute care nurse of direct admission. Assures the appropriate medical information accompanies admission orders (i.e. medication sheet, labs recent diagnostics).
  • Evaluates phone calls, determines if emergency illness or routine, and advises accordingly.

Education

Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

What you'll do...

Job Requirements
Required
  • Graduate of a state approved school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse Licensed in the State of North Dakota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Where You'll Work

CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.
