About the MICU

The MICU offers a wide range of experiences through managing complex diagnoses and patient needs. Our team of highly skilled nurses care for the Central Region's most critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment with many learning opportunities. The unit handles patients with multi-system management needs, including respiratory, metabolic, gastrointestinal, hematological, endocrine, renal disorders, cardiac, and stroke overflow. MICU provides an excellent foundation for your nursing career, with a variety of patient cases and ongoing skill updates.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state and/or via compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion within 30 days of hire
