Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Waxahachie, TX is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit on the night shift. You will perform patient assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care on a 25-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio.

The role requires Cardiac/Telemetry experience and NIH Stroke Scale familiarity, a current RN license, and a commitment to Magnet-designated hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Cardiac/Telemetry experience required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience preferred.
• Current RN license required or obtained within probation period.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our night shift team on our Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive, team-oriented culture where your skills and contributions are truly valued.

Unit Details

25-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit

Patient ratio: 5:1

Diverse patient population including overflow surgical and cardiac patients

Fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary support

Schedule

Full-Time, Nights

• 12-hour shifts per week

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
