Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5th Floor Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. This day-shift role supports a 25-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio, delivering care to diverse surgical and cardiac patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has Cardiac telemetry experience, NIH Stroke Scale proficiency, and is licensed to practice as a nurse in Texas. Shifts are 12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, full-time.

Qualifications

• RN license required in Texas.
• Grad of an accredited nursing program.
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry and NIH Stroke Scale.

Responsibilities

• As an RN, assess and monitor patients on a 25-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit.
• Develop and implement care plans, document progress, and educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care.
• Prioritize safety, comfort, and discharge planning for diverse surgical and cardiac patients.
