Job summary

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit. This full-time day-shift role involves delivering patient-centered care, coordinating with the care team, and implementing plans per physician orders.

The RN will monitor patients, administer medications, and participate in emergencies. Qualifications include 0-2 years of acute care experience, state RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care per organizational policies and nursing process.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Maintain infection control protocols and ensure patient safety.
• Document patient care and education thoroughly in the medical record.
• Engage in telemetry duties: monitor heart rhythms and report trends.
