Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join a 34-bed cardiac PCU/Tele stroke overflow unit in Columbus, Ohio. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals, and provide direct bedside care for pre- and post-surgery patients.

Requires ACLS/BLS/NIH certification, Epic experience within 1 year, and ability to float to other units.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• ACLS/BLS/ NIH certifications required.
• Epic experience on resume within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
• Evaluating medical information, and providing direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
• Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs.
• Adjusting medical equipment and recording measurements.
• Monitoring vitals and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Educating patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
• Maintaining patient files and health records.
• Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

• Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
• Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
• Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
• Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
• Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
• Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
• Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
• Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Skills:

This is a 34-bed cardiac PCU/Tele stroke overflow unit.Must be willing to float Must have ACLS/BLS/NIH and comfortable running cardiac drips.Must show Epic experience on resume within 1 year.Patient nurse ratios 1:4 sometimes 1:5.

Education/Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
