Job summary

CARIN Alliance is seeking an experienced Clinical Staff Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across Medical-Surgical Telemetry, Emergency and ICU units. You will organize, plan, and coordinate care using the Watson Model of Care while supporting hospital mission and quality initiatives.

The role requires a California RN license, BLS and ACLS, with at least 12 months in acute care. Bilingual Spanish and EMR proficiency are advantageous, and you will participate in discharge

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Nursing Diploma is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 12 months of clinical nursing experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, ED, ICU, or PACU.
  • Current California RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  • Basic EKG skills; CCU or surgical nursing certifications are a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish is advantageous; EMR experience and basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible patient care across different units as patient census demands.
  • Apply nursing process for assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Recognize subtle clinical changes and adapt care accordingly.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care, utilizing current research and critical thinking.
  • Build therapeutic relationships, conduct hourly rounding, and promote patient satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively using SBAR during hand-offs.
  • Document assessments, care plans, and interventions per policies.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor patient progress, notify physicians of changes, and evaluate intervention outcomes.
  • Supervise ancillary staff and assist with unit orientation and setup.
  • Maintain a safe environment, participate in quality initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support training and onboarding of new staff, and assist with system testing.
  • Provide basic hygiene and ADLs, and perform other duties as assigned.
