Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles is seeking an RN for the Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool on a FT Day schedule. The RN will float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, ED, ICU, or PACU as overflow requires, delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centered care over 12-hour shifts.

The role requires a CA RN license, 12 months of nursing experience, basic EKG competence, and BLS/ACLS. Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus and EHR proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Current California Nursing license (RN) required
• Basic EKG competence required
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Dysrhythmia course may be helpful

Responsibilities

• Float across hospital units to provide care for Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients
• Handle 12-hour shifts with accountability for planning and coordinating patient care

Job Description

The Clinical Staff Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the management of patient care. Reporting to the Manager Central Staffing, the RN will float as needed throughout the hospital to provide care for Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients. The settings would include inpatient Medical-Surgical Telemetry units as well the Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit or the Post Anethesia Care Unit when overflow Medical-Surgical Telemetry are being boarded there. The Clinical Staff Nurse has 12 hour accountability for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient/family centered care based on the Watson Model of Care for a defined group of patients, including the identification and demonstration of abilities to meet special needs and considerations of Age and Population Specific awareness.

Qualifications

• Education
• Bachelor of Sciences degree preferred.
• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent required.
• Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of 12 months of clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience preferred with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice and/or at the discretion of the Manager/ Director
